About the Pocket Bard

The Pocket Bard, known as Katherine Ashewode in the SCA and Julie Golick in the rest of the world, has been doing bardic seriously since 2003. Despite this, she was only christened “The Pocket Bard” by her Pennsic campmates in 2008. They asked her to create a website of her stories and songs, and this page is the result.

This site is devoted to the Pocket Bard’s original stories and songs, both for the SCA and for a more general audience. It also covers other things the Pocket Bard thinks are interesting, like SCA CD reviews, articles to improve bardic performance, and links to useful sites.

The Pocket Bard

If you are an SCA artist and would like your CD reviewed on the Home of the Pocket Bard, email the webmistress at julie.golick@gmail.com and she’ll be happy to help. If there is a topic you would like to see covered, email the same address. Just remember: do not try the patience of bards, for their memories are long and your name scans to Greensleeves.

What does the Pocket Bard look like? Well, for one thing, she’s small enough to fit in your pocket. That not enough for you? To the right is a picture of the Pocket Bard in action, practising some bardic, because songs don’t write themselves!

I found my phone pointing to this… Ergo websites are not dead!
